Organizations to Check Out

Here are a few organizations that have goals that relate to FEED or our parent organizations NOFA-VT and Shelburne Farms. We follow them on Facebook, peruse their websites, and always find interesting and relevant information. We hope you learn something new from one or all of them!
Center for Ecoliteracy - ecoliteracy.org. “The Center for Ecoliteracy supports and advances education for sustainable living. The Center is best known for its pioneering work with school gardens, school lunches, and integrating ecological principles and sustainability into school curricula.”
Civil Eats - civileats.com. “Civil Eats is a daily news source for critical thought about the American food system. We publish stories that shift the conversation around sustainable agriculture in an effort to build economically and socially just communities.”
Food Tank: The Food Think Tank - foodtank.com. “Food Tank is a non-profit organization focused on building a global community for safe, healthy, nourished eaters. We spotlight environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable ways of alleviating hunger, obesity, and poverty and create networks of people, organizations, and content to push for food system change.”
The Food Trust - thefoodtrust.org. “Ensuring that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food. The Food Trust, a nonprofit founded in 1992, strives to make healthy food available to all.”
Eat Local Grown - eatlocalgrown.com. “The eatlocalgrown project is a crowd-sourced community driven tool that helps you find, rate and share locally grown food.”
School Meals That Rock - schoolmealsthatrock.org. “This is a place to share and celebrate what is right with school nutrition in America. It is a counter-revolution to the media bashing of school meals and a tribute to every lunch lady (and gentleman) working to do amazing things for kids’ nutrition.”
