Caramelized Onion, Apple and Beet Flatbread

Ingredients

Onions, beets, apples, garlic, cheddar cheese, monterey jack cheese, olive oil, salt, thyme, whole wheat flour, white flour yeast, maple syrup, sugar

Preparation Instructions

Dissolve yeast in 1 c warm water. Combine whole wheat and white flour, salt sugar, and water and add to yeast mixture. Mix until dough comes together in a smooth ball , add more flour if its too sticky. Knead well and let rise.

Boil beets and  peel. Slice  several beets. Chop several beets. Puree several beets with garlic and olive oil.

Slice onions and sautee until lightly brown. Chop and lightly sautee apples.

Grate cheese.

Roll out dough and assemble flat breads. Bake 20 minutes or until crust is golden.
