Vermont Pizza

Ingredients

-1/2 chopped onion

-1 clove of garlic

-2 apples sliced

-1/2 cup Maple Syrup

-1 cup of cheddar cheese

-1tbs. yeast

-1 ½ tsps. Sugar

-3/4 cup water

-3/4 tsp. salt

-1 tbs. Olive oil

-1 tbs. honey

-2 cups all-purpose flour

-1 tbs. cornmeal

Preparation Instructions

In a large bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and water. Cover with a towel and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the yeast to begin to bubble and foam.

Add salt, olive oil, and honey and mix with a whisk until the honey dissolves.

With a whisk, stir in the first 1 cup flour until combined. Switch to a wooden spoon and mix in the remaining flour ½ cup at a time until it starts to form a ball. Push the dough to the middle of the bowl. Cover with a towel and let the dough rest 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees

Get desired toppings cut and prepared

Divide dough in half and set one half on a lightly floured surface. Form it into a disk and then roll out into a circle.

Transfer rolled out dough to cornmeal covered pizza pan.

Layer on sauce and toppings.

Place pizza in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is melted.

Remove pizza and add maple syrup.
