Spring Child Nutrition Programs Field Trip: Butterworks Farm
Join NOFA-VT for an afternoon at the legenDAIRY Butterworks Farm!
If you’re interested in learning more about organic, grassfed dairy products and how they are created–from healthy pastures to well-fed cows, milking, production and packaging and all the way to the final products: organic grassfed yogurt, kefir, cream and more– join us on Friday, May 22 for a visit to Butterworks. We’ll meet the farm’s new owner and manager Anthony Calderaro and his staff, and they’ll walk us through the farm and creamery and help us understand why organic and grassfed are such important farm practices at Butterworks. We’ll explore how these products can and have been used in school food service.
While this field trip is geared for school nutrition professionals, anyone interested in farm to school and local food systems are welcome to register.
