Explore Farm to Early Childhood programming with us!
$15 online participant (+ additional fees with undergraduate or graduate credit)
Farm to School encourages children to investigate their food systems, adopt healthy eating behaviors, and develop deeper connections to their communities. It connects Classrooms, Cafeterias/Kitchens, and Communities (the 3C’s)!
Now you — whether you're a family child care, Head Start, center-based, public pre-K, or home visiting educator — can join our series, Cultivating Farm to Early Childhood (FTEC), to explore and expand your food and nutrition programming while building and strengthening community relationships. Learn how FTEC concepts help meet multiple standards across licensing, CACFP, VELS, and STARS by promoting children’s learning, social emotional well-being, healthy eating habits, family engagement, and community building.
Participate in all three sessions, or pick the one you're most interested in.
This course will focus on the "Curriculum" part of the 3C Model for Farm to Early Childhood (FTEC). Participants will increase their awareness of how FTEC can benefit the classroom curriculum and how to best embed this work into the culture of their classroom. We’ll focus primarily on incorporating hands-on activities virtually that can add depth and exposure for children and families around the benefits and value of our agricultural community.
This FTEC opportunity is generously supported by the A.D. Henderson Foundation and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets.
Registration is required; deadline October 4.
This course is available for one undergraduate or graduate credit at an additional cost of $125. If you enroll in the full three-course series (Classroom, Kitchen, and Community) you may request a full or partial scholarship for the credit-bearing fees and you will receive a free copy of Cultivating Joy & Wonder.
